Keep your steering wheel audio controls
Are you looking to install an aftermarket stereo in your car, but worried about losing your handy steering wheel audio controls? This ASWC-1 interface from Axxess allows you to connect the steering wheel controls in a wide variety of vehicles to almost any brand of aftermarket stereo, including Alpine, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony and more. (Note: your new stereo must have a 3.5mm steering wheel control or wired remote control input.)
Installation is a straightforward process. You usually have to connect a few wires to your factory wiring. In most cases, this interface automatically detects which vehicle it's connected to — if not, you can manually program the interface for your vehicle by following a step-by-step process with LED confirmation. Once connected, the adapter's memory retains its programming even if battery power is interrupted. A USB slot lets you keep the ASWC-1 current when updates become available.
Wiring Advisory: You'll usually have to tap or splice into one to three wires in your vehicle at the radio location to connect this interface. If you're using a Metra Axxess OEM integration adapter to connect your new car stereo to your vehicle, then it most likely will have a prewired connector for this Axxess ASWC-1 adapter. In these cases, no additional wiring in required. Axxess does provide custom wiring instructions for all confirmed compatible vehicles on their website.
