These 4A and 250V Method Detection Limit (MDL) fuses are commonly used to provide overload and short circuit protection in high but short overload electrical circuits.
Slow-acting MDL fuses are distinguished from fast-acting fuses because they are designed to react with some delay to overloads. They have a heating element that melts with an intentional delay, allowing them to handle temporary overloads without immediately triggering the fuse. Slow-blow MDL fuses are therefore particularly suitable for applications where higher overload currents may occur briefly, such as large engines, air conditioners and dryers.
These slow blow fuses are characterized by their glass tube construction with nickel plated brass ends and have standard dimensions of 6.35 mm x 31.75 mm (1/4" x 1-1/4").
