The 15KV high-frequency transformer with a U-shaped magnetic core is much larger than the 10KV high-frequency transformer with a magnetic core, and has more power.

Note: The high-voltage winding of this transformer is wound on the inner layer with a segmented skeleton and is encapsulated with epoxy resin. The low-voltage winding is on the outer layer.

Approximate size: 29 × 24 × 18mm (length × width × height, irregular size, the most protruding part of the measurement)

Uses: general science experiment in middle school, electronic instrument, negative ion generator, scientific production, etc. This circuit generates a stable high-frequency arc during operation, and the temperature is extremely high, which can easily ignite combustibles, so some people call it a plasma lighter (* endnote).

The primary of this transformer has two windings, a main winding and a feedback winding. The secondary output is high voltage.

When the secondary high-voltage output of this transformer is not connected with high-voltage rectifier diodes and capacitors, the output is high-frequency high-voltage electricity, and it is a light purple arc when it breaks down in the air. Very thin iron wire (like the scene where the thin iron wire burned in oxygen during the junior high school chemical experiment, but not as intense as in oxygen.)

If the output terminal is connected to several high-voltage capacitors and high-voltage rectifiers to form a voltage doubler circuit, then DC high voltage can be generated, and a negative ion generator can be made.

Note: This transformer is also suitable for 12V voltage, but the base feedback resistance needs to be increased to about 150Ω ~ 1.5KΩ, and its resistance value should be adjusted from large to small, not too small, otherwise the transistor or the transformer will not burn. Should be too large, too large affect the output effect or make the transistor work in a non-switching state and cause serious heat.
In addition: the transformer is designed to have a maximum output of 15KV, and the maximum output must not exceed 15KV, which is an arc of 1.5 cm. A higher output voltage is likely to damage the transformer. If you want to work reliably for a long time, it is recommended to use insulating wax or epoxy resin to completely seal it. When it is not sealed, it is forbidden to work without load!
